Camphill Communities Ontario’s mission has been to recognize every individual’s right to be seen and heard, and to foster the gifts and talents of adults with developmental disabilities within the societal whole. For 35 years in Simcoe County, Camphill has strived to cultivate and celebrate every person’s unique character and perspective. Together, we have created a dynamic, productive and caring community where everyone has an opportunity to contribute and create. Together, we have pursued our goal of sharing Camphill’s diverse strengths and cultural character with others. And together, we have benefited from the recognition and support of our neighbors and have broadened our footprint in the larger Barrie/Simcoe County region. At Camphill, we have worked tirelessly to create inclusive, enriching, wholesome, meaningful and purposeful experiences for adults with developmental disabilities who lead the way, widening our appreciation of human diversity, bringing new focus to the importance of inclusiveness and openness, and inspiring learning and outreach so that every person in our community can reach their full potential in a safe and affirmative environment.

Camphill has been fortunate to have the strong support of many loyal and committed partners, donors, and families throughout the years. Our wonderful community is the legacy of their generous and meaningful contributions. Camphill’s evolution has been ambitious and groundbreaking, requiring a full commitment from everyone. We rejoice in our here-and-now and know that there is much more to do.
