Chair, Cathy Charlton

Cathy Charlton is the Executive Coordinator at Hospice Simcoe. She is the proud mother of two daughters. Her oldest daughter, Chloe Garner, is a part of Camphill’s Supported Living program in Barrie. Cathy resides in Barrie and joined the CCO Board in June 2020.

Vice Chair, Elaine Sano

A friend of Camphill Communities since 1990, Elaine became a Director on the CCO Board in 2019. The experience she brings is a synthesis of Naturopathic Medicine, Psychology, and Organizational Relationship Systems. Her understanding of wholeness & creativity is synergistic with what we believe is the heart of good living at Camphill. Elaine lives in Toronto.

Treasurer, Howard Vanier

Howard Vanier is a Certified Supply Chain Management Professional (CSCMP) with over twenty years of experience in the electrical and electronics manufacturing and distribution sector and currently owns and manages his own construction company. He and his wife Donna have three adult children and his son Jeff has attended the CCO day program for the past few summers. Howard lives in Toronto and joined the CCO Board in June 2020. 

Director, Kevin Jackson

Kevin grew up in Camphill in Beaver Run and South Africa and served for many years on our CCO Board (2006-2013). He is a business partner at his firm Bizzone Inc. Kevin lives and works in Gormley and joined the CCO Board in June 2019. 

Director, Dr. Sonia Mastrangelo

Dr. Sonia Mastrangelo is Assistant Dean and Acting Chair of Undergraduate Programs in the Faculty of Education, Lakehead University Orillia. She also serves as Director of Research for the Applied Self-Regulation Knowledge Network and is chief editor of the International Journal of Holistic Early Learning and Development. Her areas of research include self-regulation, mental health, special and inclusive education with a focus on autism spectrum disorders, and cognitive-developmental systems theory.

Director, John Mohler

John Mohler is a P. Eng., Company President and CEO, retired. Owner/President of HR/xL Canada, management consultants. Past governance includes general hospital, community college, YM/YWCA, church and 20 years with a variety of MCCSS advisory councils. His son Colin resides at Camphill and his brother Craig lives in Tottenham supported by CLASS. John joined the CCO Board in June 2018.

Director, Senem Ozkin

Senem Ozkin is a lawyer, currently serving as the Manager of Criminal Duty Counsel for Legal Aid Ontario. Senem also teaches part-time at Georgian College. Senem joined the CCO Board in 2021.

Director, Barry Shimmons

Barry Shimmons lives in Mount Hope and is a Horticultural Therapist who has worked with individuals at Camphill Communities, Improving Lives and CLASS Tottenham. He is also a Landscape Designer and has a background in Mechanical Engineering. Barry joined the CCO Board in 2021.

Director, John Scarfe

John Scarfe was a criminal lawyer until his appointment as a Justice of the Peace with the Ontario Court of Justice in May of 2018. John has served as a Director of Camphill Communities Ontario and the Camphill Foundation Canada. John's younger brother Peter has been a resident of Camphill Communities Ontario since 1989. John re-joined the Board in August 2018.

Director, Kayla Wratschko

Kayla Wratschko is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst. She is an independent service provider with more than 15 years experience in the field. Kayla and her dog live in Barrie and she joined the CCO Board in 2023.
